AGOGA BONDI

Small businesses we love to support.

During COVID19, we caught up with some of our favourite, fellow business owners, to reflect on how their livlihoods have been affected.

Here's John and Belinda - owners of Agoga.

We love the freedom of running our own show.

As we took over from the previous owners (who were incredibly well liked and respected), the most challenging was believing in yourself to maintain the standards they had set.

What is the best part about owning your own business?

Calling the shots :) We love the freedom of running our own show, being able to improve the health and wellness of the community.

What was the most challenging part of starting your own business?

As we took over from the previous owners (who were incredibly well liked and respected), the most challenging was believing in yourself to maintain the standards they had set, and then grow on their great work. Another was the outlay of costs and also the uncertainty if people will come to your gym, will they see the value in it and return.

How has COVID affected your business?

We have taken a considerable hit it revenue, over two thirds lost due to closing the doors. It has also prevented us from promoting our main business (bricks and mortar) as we look to re-invent our product and service online.

We have taken a considerable hit it revenue, over two thirds lost due to closing the doors.

I think everyone feels a sense of coming together once this passes. It's that feeling that I look forward to sharing the most.

What has been the scariest part of the COVID shutdowns for you?

The uncertainty of when we can re-open and are we able to keep a float to reopen the doors, very concerning times and hope the Govt, banks and landlords provide adequate assistance.

How can we support your small business during this time?

Continue to share our online offerings to their networks. As it's all about the online world now, I think it's imperative that small business bands together to promote each others products and benefits with calls to action.

What are you most looking forward to, when this too, shall pass?

A DRINK. Honestly, with the current support of the community we have built, I am looking forward to re-engaging with them in the studio. Giving them a hug!! I think everyone feels a sense of coming together once this passes. It's that feeling that I look forward to sharing the most.
